Here we have a much sought-after beautiful 1948 Gibson LG-2 made in Kalamazoo, Michigan with a sunburst spruce top and dark stained mahogany back, sides and neck complete with period correct black chipboard case and riveted-gear Kluson tuners.
Overall condition is very good. It has been given a pro set up by London-based luthier Kenji Okumura so it plays beautifully. New bone nut and saddle.
As expected of a guitar of this age, there's a fair amount of play wear and marks which can be seen in the detailed photos.
The back has a few repaired cracks that have been cleated.
The LG-2 is known for its warm and balanced tone, making it a popular choice among blues and folk musicians. This example has a rich mid-range and a clear, articulate sound.
