Beautiful concert guitar from the Japanese master luthier Masaki Sakurai. Built in 1989, it has a very clear and articulate sound. It features a spruce top, Central American rosewood back and sides, cedar neck and ebony fingerboard.  A fabulous sounding guitar!

Although the guitar is labelled as a 'Concert J', it's actually a P.C. (Paris Competition) model based on the specs.

Overall condition is good. There's a small ding on the soundboard (bass side) and as some point it had a pickup fitted as there's a hole drilled for an endpin jack.

  • Spruce top
  • Central American Rosewood
  • Cedar neck
  • 53mm Nut
  • 650mm Scale
  • Hiscox Case

About Masaki Sakurai:

Mr Sakurai, nephew of the late Masaru Kohno, studied electrical engineering at Sophia University and became part of Kohno Guitar Manufacturing in 1967. In 1988, Masaki Sakurai won the prestigious first prize at the International Paris Guitar Making Competition. Masaki Sakurai, after studying the importance of the soundboard on the sound of the guitar, created a new bracing system. Masaki Sakurai’s guitars are of impeccable craftsmanship and are known for their easy playability and great volume of sound.
