1941 Gibson L-7 Archtop Sunburst
Here we have a fantastic early 1940s Gibson L-7 non-cutaway archtop from the golden era of American jazz guitars. Designed as a professional working musician’s instrument, it delivered much of the flagship Gibson L-5’s performance without its ornate decoration. Featuring a 17-inch body with a hand-carved solid spruce top and carved maple back and sides, it was built for volume, projection, and clarity - qualities that allowed it to cut through big band ensembles before amplification became standard
This particular instrument is in very good condition, showing authentic natural wear along the back of the neck. It has had a re-fret and the original tuners have been replaced, though they are included. Fitted with an original DeArmond Rhythm Chief pickup.
Includes the original case; while it shows signs of age and use, it remains functional.
