2011 Fender Custom Shop David Gilmour Stratocaster Relic (Pre-owned)
Introduced as a detailed recreation of David Gilmour’s famous Black Strat, this Fender Custom Shop model was developed in close collaboration with Gilmour and his long-time guitar technician, Phil Taylor. The Relic version features a black nitrocellulose lacquer finish over a three-colour sunburst alder body, a one-piece maple neck and Gilmour’s distinctive pickup and switching arrangement, including a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 in the bridge position and a mini-toggle for adding the neck pickup to the bridge and combined positions.
This 2011 example is in excellent condition and retains its original Custom Shop hard case and virtually all of its original case candy and documentation. The only notable omission is the original Evidence Audio guitar cable. The Relic finish is, of course, factory-applied and forms part of the specification of the guitar rather than representing subsequent wear.
