Atkin OOO37 Argentine Grey - Aged Finish #4471
Hand-crafted in Canterbury, Kent by Alister Atkin and his small team of talented luthiers, this beautiful 000-37 features a torrefied Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides. With its 24.9" scale length and compact body size, the 000 is comfortable to play while still producing an impressively full and resonant voice.
The torrefied Sitka top gives the guitar a wonderfully played-in quality, with plenty of immediate response and clarity, while the Indian rosewood adds depth, warmth and sustain to the overall sound. It has a particularly sweet, singing treble response, making it a superb choice for fingerstyle playing, but there's more than enough power and versatility for strumming and flatpicking too.
The 000-37 is a lovely example of what Atkin does so well - traditional acoustic guitar design combined with excellent contemporary craftsmanship and a very responsive, musical feel. Definitely one of my personal favourites in the shop.
