2007 Ibanez PM100-BK Pat Metheny Signature (Pre-owned)
The Ibanez PM100 is a hollow-body electric guitar introduced in 1996 as the first signature model for American jazz guitarist and composer Pat Metheny. Built at the Fujigen factory in Japan, it features a full hollow body with a maple top, back, and sides; a set-in mahogany neck joined at the 17th fret; and an ebony fingerboard with binding and pearl/acrylic/abalone split-block inlays.
Hardware includes a single Ibanez Super 58 humbucking pickup, a Gotoh Tune-o-matic–style bridge on a wooden base with a custom tailpiece, a bone nut, Sure Grip knobs, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The guitar is in very good overall condition, showing some light gloss-finish wear on the top. There is a small ding on the back of the neck (see photo), and some minor gold-plating wear on the pickup and bridge.
Discontinued in 2013, these superb-quality archtops rarely come up for sale. This example sounds excellent and plays beautifully.
