1964 Epiphone E444T Granada (Pre-owned)

A lovely example of the Epiphone E444T Granada, a Gibson-made Kalamazoo model from the mid-1960s. The Granada was Epiphone's take on the affordable thinline hollowbody, with a 16¼" body, single Melody Maker-style pickup, floating rosewood bridge and trapeze tailpiece. Simple, lightweight and full of character, it offers a wonderfully woody, open vintage tone.

This example has been modified, with the original pickguard and Melody Maker pickup replaced by a custom-made tortoiseshell pickguard. An undersaddle pickup has also been fitted, with discreet volume and tone thumbwheel controls mounted beneath the pickguard, providing a useful amplified option while keeping the appearance of the guitar relatively clean and understated.

It's also one of those guitars that seems to win people over the moment they pick it up. Everyone who's played it so far has loved it - there's something about the combination of its lightweight feel, comfortable neck and wonderfully lively character that makes you want to keep playing. One of those guitars that, once you pick it up, you won't want to put down.
