1995 Martin 000-16 Sitka/Mahogany (Pre-owned)
Here we have a wonderful pre-owned Martin 000-16 guitar from 1995. It features a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Mahogany back/sides and Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The scale length on '000' models is traditionally 24.9" but this early 16 series guitars has a 25.4" scale making it a lot closer to an OM-18 than the current 16 series guitar. It also has a dovetail neck joint.
This is a player's guitar with plenty of wear/signs of use. The satin finish has glossed over in places as can be seen in the photos. The frets are worn in the first three positions (primarily on the treble side - G,B & E strings) and the fingerboard also shows wear marks. However, this doesn't affect its tone or playability. Slight binding shrinkage around the waist - a common 'feature' on many Martin guitars it seems.
The guitar has had nearly 30 years to to age and open up and it sounds fantastic. Currently set up with D'Addatio EJ26 (.011-.052)
Includes the original hardshell case.
