A particularly distinctive Gibson from the 1990s, this 1997 Les Paul Studio Gem Series is finished in the striking Sapphire Blue finish and features a pair of P-90 pickups.
The Gem Series was produced by Gibson during the mid-to-late 1990s and was offered in a range of distinctive gemstone-inspired finishes. Essentially based on the Les Paul Studio, the Gem combined the familiar mahogany/maple Les Paul construction with P-90 pickups and gold hardware, making for a slightly different take on the traditional Les Paul formula.
This example is in very good overall condition, with the normal signs of use you would expect from a guitar of this age, including some scratches and the occasional ding or mark - the most noticeable ones being on the tip of the cutaway and around the edges (see photos).
A couple of the screws securing the pickup cavity plates are replacements rather than the original screws.
