Left-handed 2009 National Style 1.5 Tricone (Pre-owned)
The Style 1.5 is built around National's traditional three-cone ("tricone") resonator system, originally developed in the late 1920s to provide greater volume and a more complex tonal character than conventional acoustic guitars. Compared to National's single-cone instruments, the tricone is known for its smoother response, richer overtones, longer sustain, and a more refined, piano-like voice.
The nickel-plated brass body exhibits light, honest playwear and natural patina, including minor areas of plating wear consistent with age and use. These purely cosmetic signs of use add to the instrument's character and do not affect its structural integrity, playability, or tone.
At some point in its life, the guitar developed a small crack to the neck heel which has since been professionally repaired. The repair is structurally sound, cosmetically excellent, and effectively invisible. In addition, a minor separation was beginning to develop along a section of the body seam where the back meets the side; this was professionally stabilised internally and is now secure and stable. Both repairs have been carried out to a high standard and have no impact on the instrument's playability, structural integrity, or remarkable tonal performance.
