1940's Orpheum Archtop Guitar (Pre-owned)

Here we have a lovely vintage US-made archtop featuring a solid spruce top, sunburst (possibly Maple) back and sides, rosewood fingerboard and bridge.  The neck profile is chunky, as you would would expect from a vintage guitar from this era, but with a narrow nut (42.5mm)  Scale length is 25 1/2"

In good condition overall. There's some shrinking to the tuner buttons

About Orpheum Guitars:

The Orpheum brand was used already in the late 19th century by an American banjo maker. In the 1930’s the company began marketing acoustic then archtop jazz guitars and even wind instruments but that business ceased during WW-II.

By the end of the war the trade name was recycled by the Maurice Lipsky Music Co., Inc. of New York for a range of stringed instruments, positioned in the same market segment as Kay, e.g. affordably priced average quality.
