Here we have a stunning Style 1 Weissenborn handmade by Tom Buchanan in Yorkshire. This pre-owned instrument embodies the classic simplicity of the Style 1 design, with clean lines, understated elegance, and a voice that is every bit as enchanting as its appearance. Lightly played and well cared for, it's in excellent condition. Fitted with an LR Baggs Anthem pickup, it’s fully gig-ready.
About the Buchanan Style 1 Weissenborn:
The Style 1 has been patterned from a fine example circa 1927 Style 1. Every detail has been captured to ensure an absolute true recreation. Being built in the same way as the originals has meant these instruments have a lightweight feel yet are still strong.
As is correct for this period, full hot hide glue is used across the construction. These are built using only the finest old grown and slow dried Koa wood, and then finished using a hand rubbed nitrocellulose lacquer. Every attention to detail has been taken to authentically replicate a immaculate vintage instrument in look, feel and tone.
As the original Style 1’s were, this Style 1 is constructed using plainer grained but tonally balanced and beautiful selected Koa.
